John Wickham has joined the Lotus Renault outfit as their new team manager following the departure of Steve Nielsen earlier this month.
Wickham started his career in motorsport in 1972 with the British Automobile Racing Club before competing in Formula 2 with his Spirit Racing outfit.
He has worked with several well-known faces within Formula 1 including Emerson Fittipaldi and Damon Hill as well as a five-year stint as director at Arrows.
Most recently, Wickham has been working with the now defunct A1 GP series as Head of Operations.
He now joins Renault as the team go through a minor reshuffle with Alan Permane, chief race engineer, likely to be promoted to a more senior position.
