Sergio Perez says he is looking forward to making his return to racing following a two-race break.
Though he competed in first practice in Canada last weekend, the Mexican was replaced by Pedro de la Rosa for the remainder of the weekend after feeling unwell, following his Monaco qualifying crash.
He says he is now ‘perfectly well’ and ready to jump back into the car after undergoing some physiotherapy earlier this week.
“I flew home from Montreal, and back in Mexico I spent the time preparing myself for the next race and trained together with our physiotherapist,” said the Sauber driver.
“I feel perfectly well and I’m very much looking forward to racing in Valencia.”
A successful past at the track bodes well for Perez and he aims to repeat that GP2 success next weekend.
“Without doubt it is an advantage that I know this track well. In 2009 I was on the podium after both GP2 races and last year I had pole position.”
