Engine supplier, Renault, have admitted that they have serious concerns over the delay in deciding the engine regulations from 2013.
Delays have occurred after Ferrari, Cosworth and Mercedes aired their concerns over the FIA’s proposal to push ahead with a more eco-friendly four-cylinder turbo engine, however Renault have said that the sport’s governing body need to remember who is in charge.
“It seems to me that the situation is losing control.” Renault boss, Jean-Francois Caubet told the press.
“We understand and respect the ideas of Ferrari, Mercedes and Cosworth, but we are not willing to accept delays or to see things change in this way.”
Renault have put their foot down on this one and FIA president, Jean Todt, has said, “Renault tell me they will go out of F1” if the regulations don’t come into effect in 2013.
