Sebastian Vettel stormed to the top of times in Canada for third practice before qualifying with a lap of 1:13.381, almost two seconds faster than 2010’s pole time.

Fernando Alonso slotted in second ahead of the ever-faster Nico Rosberg, proving Mercedes have great pace in Canada, whilst the second Ferrari of Felipe Massa came in fourth, half a second down on Vettel.

The two McLaren’s finished in-front of Michael Schumacher, whilst Vitaly Petrov, Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta rounded off the top ten.

The session saw a single red flag, which came out after the checkered flag as Sergio Perez stand-in, Pedro de la Rosa, span his Sauber C30 at T4, damaging the rear.

Mark Webber was the only other casualty as he didn’t leave the garage after his RB7 suffered a KERS issue before the session began.
