The Indian Grand Prix circuit will be finished ahead of its extended deadline, according to Vicky Chandhok, president of the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs in India.
The Buddh International circuit was set to join the Formula 1 calendar in late October, but with the reinstatement of Bahrain, its debut has been pushed back to mid-December.
Some would say, looking at the latest pictures from the circuit below, that such a delay is a welcome move by the FIA.
Chandhok however is confident the move has nothing to do with the tracks construction deadline.
“[It] has nothing to do the race track, which is getting ready well ahead of schedule,” he told AP.
“If you ask me if it, the track, will be ready as per the original date, the answer is yes,” he said, giving the construction group, Jaypee, just under five months to complete the 3.2m track.
