The FIA has confirmed that the Spanish Grand Prix will feature the long drag-reduction (DRS) zone on the calendar so far.
The Circuit de Catalunya’s detection zone will be located just after the final chicane leading into 16, before the drivers can activate their rear-wing slot as they cross the start/finish line.
The zone will last for 830 metres, making it the longest yet, before the drivers are forced to break for turn one, which results in the wing automatically returning to the closed position.
The FIA are hoping the long zone will bring to an end the processional races for which the circuit is renowned for.
