Kamui Kobayashi has launched a mobile application, or app, aimed at raising money for the Red Cross in Japan, in a bid to aid the support effort following a devastating earthquake earlier this year.
The “You are connected” app features photos and personal handwritten messages by drivers and team principals and can be purchased through the iTunes store for £0.59 (€0.79).
All the money raised by this application will go to the Red Cross in Japan.
Kamui Kobayashi, who funded and organised the creation of this app, said: “Although the disaster attracted huge international attention in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami, other news has dominated the headlines since then.
“However, the destruction in the country is so serious that it will take many years to recover from the losses and damage. So the people in Japan need long-term support. I’d like to thank all my colleagues in Formula 1 for their contributions and hope that our e-book sells as well as possible.”
The e-book has been designed to allow constant expansion with updated versions and can be downloaded here.
