Tickets for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix went on sale just a week ago yet almost half of the grandstand tickets have been sold, according to the organisers.
The ticket prices start at £235 (AED 1,440, $395) for a two-day grandstand pass, however if that doesn’t offer enough luxury, spectators can opt for a Paddock Club ticket at £2,785 (AED 16,900, $4,600).
Richard Cregan, CEO of the Yas Marina Circuit, described the response as ‘encouraging’.
“We’re very pleased with the high level of demand for tickets,” said Cregan. “The Grand Prix has become an important part of the sporting and social calendar in the UAE. Ticket prices have been held at the same level as last year and we are very encouraged by the initial response.”
Tickets went on sale last Thursday [28 April] and the initial demand was strongest from the UAE and Europe. The race will take place at Yas Marina Circuit on 11-13 November.
