Formula One teams, drivers and fans will observe a one-minute silence ahead of Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix as a mark of respect for the recent natural disasters which have claimed countless lives.
The teams, FIA, FOM and organisers of the race have all agreed to the measure, which will honour the victims of the recent disasters in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
All the teams have shown support for Japan, in which over 10,000 people were killed by an earthquake and resultant tsunami, by showing special messages on their cars.
