The Belgium Grand Prix received a boost on Thurdsday after announcing a multi-year title sponsorship deal with oil giant Shell.
The petroleum company has been involved in Formula One for over 60 years, mainly though sponsorship of Scuderia Ferrari as well as trackside advertisments.
“The Formula One Shell Belgian Grand Prix is a cornerstone of the Formula One World Championship calendar,” said John Bullock, Executive Vice President of Shell Retail.
“Similarly, Shell has been a leading innovator throughout the history of the sport. The title sponsorship will align our values in a sport recognised as the pinnacle of motor racing and demonstrate Shell’s innovation to a growing global following of motorists.”
