The organisers of the Bahrain Grand prix have until May 1st to inform the FIA and FOM of their intention to reschedule the race.
The matter was discussed at a World Motor Sport Council meeting this week, however no definitive decision was made on whether the race should or would be reinstated for the 2011 season.
A statement issued by the FIA read: “The World Motor Sport Council asked the Bahrain Motor Federation to communicate by May 1st at the latest if the Bahrain Grand Prix can be organised in 2011.”
The organisers must ensure that the chance of further political uprising is nil, a difficult task in such a short time-frame.
