Force India’s 2010 test and reserve driver Paul di Resta, says he is firmly setting his eyes on securing a spot on the grid in 2011 after taking the DTM title at the weekend.
The Scotsman would most likely secure a spot with Force India, a team he has driven for on several occasions this season, including the young driver tests in Abu Dhabi.
“Force India has given me a great opportunity this year,” said Di Resta on Sunday.
“It’s always been my dream to be involved in a Formula One team and I’ve been able to do some great things with them this year.
“Obviously I am hoping I can get a seat there and we can build up a long relationship. F1 is my dream and I will keep on working to make it happen.”
Whilst the Silverstone team is his best chance of a race seat, Di Resta isn’t forgetting about Mercedes who have supported him throughout his DTM career.
“Mercedes have been very good to me through my career and I don’t want to forget that, so I’m just happy to win the DTM title with them right now,” he added.
