Timo Glock has backtracked on recent comments which said he was ‘keeping his eyes open’ in regards to more established seats on the grid in 2011.
The Virgin driver has now committed his future to the new British squad, citing recent progress and continuous developments as a reason to stay.
“I stand fully behind Virgin Racing and am highly motivated, because the progress made so far has been good and we’ll continue that in the remaining seven races,” he said on his website.
“I have always said that I would like to work in a team with constant further progress.
“If the progress had failed or the development had stopped then I would get – as would any other driver – frustrated of course.
“But this currently is not the case. And in the future we have even greater steps to make.”
The German driver says he is determined to help the team up its game in the near future.
“I have a long-term contract with Virgin Racing and am determined to get to the team to the next level. We have everything necessary to achieve our goals this season and in the future.”
