Michael Schumacher has been given a 10-place grid drop for the Belgian GP in four weeks time after illegitimately impeding Rubens Barrichello in the closing stages of the race.

The German made a mistake exiting the last corner on lap 66 of 70 which compromised his run down the pit straight giving the Brazilian a chance to overtake.

Barrichello made the decision to go to the right where Schumacher subsequently pushed the Williams driver to within an inch of the pit wall.

That led to Barrichello calling for the German to be black flagged for dangerous driving and after the race he described his driving as ‘crazy’.
