Christian Horner is hoping to clear the air with Mark Webber after the team favoured Sebastian Vettel at the British grand prix.
In a move which angered fans and commentators, Red Bull removed Webber’s updated front-wing and gave it to Vettel after he damaged his version in third free practice.
That left the Australian with the old wing come qualifying. However, Webber managed to secure second on the grid behind his team-mate before taking a commanding victory ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
That led to Webber venting his frustrations down the radio as he circled the Silverstone circuit on his in-lap.
“Not bad for a number two driver,” he said. Then as he readied himself for the podium, he was overheard saying he wouldn’t have signed up for another year, had he known how the Milton Keynes based team would treat him.
Horner though, is keen to clear the air and sweep away accusations that the team is favouring the young German.
“Mark has driven for this team for four seasons. He knows the depth of passion and the depth of commitment that, as an independent team, this team has put in to get two cars at the front of the grid. Mark knows that better than anybody,” he said.
“As a team member, he is an important part of the team and he has delivered his bit, as every other individual has today. Of course we will talk about it.
“If the air needs to be cleared, it will be cleared. But, he has been around long enough to know that as a sportsman difficult decisions have to be made.”
