Red Bull have admitted that they are looking into introducing their own F-Duct and expect to have it ready as early as Istanbul.
Red Bull have dominated qualifying sessions this season and it’s no secret that the RB6 has the quickest overall pace and so adding a device that allows faster straight-line speed is something the team want implemented as soon as possible – it is however expected that no team will be running the “blown rear wing” device this weekend in Monaco.
Speaking to AUTOSPORT, Red Bull boss, Christain Horner said, “We still don’t have the blown rear wing or F-Duct, so inevitably there is a research project that is going on into that, Istanbul could be a venue where that could be introduced.”
Horner couldn’t praise his chief designer enough for the effort him and his team have put into the car this season, “They have hit some ridiculously short lead times to be able to get the components to the cars, which is testament to all the guys in the factory.”
“Then we brought performance to the car at each of the grands prix to date,” he added.
“What we had in Spain was an evolution of what was introduced in Bahrain.”
