Hamilton praises stewards | Have your say

Lewis Hamilton has come out to praise this year’s race stewards and believes the decision to include a former driver on the stewarding panel has been a pivitol move for the sport.

Hamilton, as always, has been at the centre of some of the more risque moves on track but has yet to be issued with more than a “slap on the wrist” style reprimand.

“I think the FIA and their racing stewards this year, have been the best that I’ve probably experienced in Formula 1,” Hamilton was quoted as saying at the Kyalami circuit just outside Johannesburg.

“For sure we’re all pushing the boundaries and rules are rules, but I think this year it’s been a lot more fair and definitely more consistent.  Us drivers are now not afraid to have a real battle with someone, without the worry of risking a penalty.”

@coast0 said: These guys are men, not boys and I think he is right! Common sense won with the weekend rulings.

@sbozh said: Good! Boys be boys.

@mike_griffin_f1 said: Still as bad as ever, given more for less and the ex-driver will always have some sort of bias no matter who it is.

@TommyB89 said: Hit and miss, good it’s not so harsh on racing incidents but some things should have been done last race with McLaren drivers IMO.

@f1wired said: There’s been nothing to penalise. Hamilton/Vettel in the pits.. if pit crew were involved in an accident I’d blame Vettel.

@ipopic said: Some things should have been penalized. HAM almost running over pit crew and BUT slowing down under SC should have been penalized.
