Alonso insists all is rosy at Ferrari

Fernando Alonso is inisisting that his controversial over-take of team-mate, Felipe Massa, in the Chinese pit entrance has not caused any friction between them.

The Spaniard snook down the inside of the Brazilian on the 90-degree left-hander of the pit entrance in Shanghai resulting in Massa having to queue to get into the Ferrari pit-box.

“If he was not my team-mate, there wouldn’t be so much talk about it and for me it was a normal move and it definitely won’t compromise our relationship,” he told PlanetF1.

“We have a great potential and we must hope we get some normal races like the one in Bahrain. The start of the Championship has gone well. We have shown we are competitive on all the tracks and we have what it takes to win the title.”

Massa lead the championship heading into China but left in sixth after scoring only two points.

Ferrari Boss, Stefano Domenicali, agrees with Alonso and insists that the move was legal and was “just racing.”  He told PlanetF1, “I think it was just a racing incident and there is absolutely no problem between the two drivers.”

“When you are always racing to win, you can have moments like this.”

When speaking about his jump-start at the Shanghai International Circuit, something that resulted in him serving a drive-through penalty, Alonso reminded fans that this is the first time he has ever been let down by his reactions.

“My reflexes let me down and I left early. It’s never happened to me before and I am very disappointed with myself.”

Ferrari head into Barcelona second in the constructors championship and the Maranello-based squad will be hoping to get the jump on McLaren in three weeks time.
