Lewis Hamilton managed to drive his MP4-25 from twentieth to 6th after storming through the mid-field, overtaking ten cars in 12 laps.
“I couldn’t see a thing,” he told the BBC after the race. “The amount of dust that came up was incredible. My pace was great but I didn’t know I [over] took that many cars.”
He managed to get past his teammate, as well as Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa on the opening lap.
After a poor qualifying result, Lewis knew he couldn’t challenge for the win and without the expected rain, a top ten finish was almost out of reach, so he was thrilled to finish 6th.
“Overall, I am well happy. I can’t ask more than to get sixth from twentieth.”
It could have been a better result, but his good friend, Adrian Sutil, managed to hold the Brit up for the remaining 15 or so laps.
“I tried my best but he was faultless. All credit to him.”
