The Virgin team have opted to start both cars from the pitlane after changing parts of the car after qualifying.
They suffered from fuel pick-up problems in Q1, which meant they had to run heavier loads than desirable. They have now changed both fuel collectors in a bid to solve the issue.
Timo Glock has also been given a five-placed grid penalty for opening up his gearbox, however that won’t matter as he will automatically start last in the pitlane.
The major benefit for Virgin, is they can start with maximum fuel loads, without wasting any driving to the grid for the formation lap and warm-up lap.
