Mark Webber has, today, refuted Lewis Hamilton’s claim that the Aussie may retire from the sport at the end of the 2010 season.
The 34-year old was speaking ahead of his home grand-prix in Melbourne, Australia when he told reporters, “I am very motivated, enjoying my job and looking forward to a great season.”
The veteran of nine seasons continued to say, “I have no intention at all of retiring. It is Lewis’ opinion and he is free to have that [however] I am very happy at the moment.
Although Webber has only ever won two races in his career, both last season in Germany and Brazil, he insists that he is confident with what he can achieve in 2010.
“There are a lot less concerns for me this season. I already have a grand prix under my belt and while there are still a few little niggles here and there they are absolutely nothing compared to last year.
“I am in good shape, I feel good and I am ready to go for a whole season and obviously not just this weekend,” he added.
