Not even breaking six bones could stop Sir Stirling Moss from having a “little” wager on which driver will take home the championship gold this season.
Moss, who is in hospital after falling down a lift shaft at his home, has tipped Red Bull Racing’s Sebastian Vettel for the honor and has actually put his money where is mouth is.
A message on Stirling Moss’s official Twiiter page reads, “SM backing Vettel for championship and putting the money where his mouth is.”
Moss’s career spanned ten-years in which the Brit, now 80, won 16 Grand-Prix which led to him being described as “the greatest driver to never win a championship.”
Further messages on Stirling Moss’s Twitter page suggest that he is hoping to release a video message to all of his fans and well-wishers later today.
A statement on his condition as well as photos of both his feet plastered and bound, are on show on his official website. Sir Stirling is said to be in good spirits and expects to recover from his injuries – two broken ankles plus four more broken bones in his feet – in about six weeks.
