The SunEnergy1 is suffering from a water-cooling issue, but is being repaired and will head back on track, a team mechanic told MotorsportWeek.com.

The car was running well in GTD, but around half an hour ago the car was taken behind the wall and into the garage, where it has remained ever since, hood up with mechanics diagnosing then fixing the issue.

But a mechanic confirmed to MotorsportWeek.com that the popular team, with the car’s unique livery, will be back out on track once the water cooing issue has been rectified.

MotorsportWeek.com also asked a Ferrari Competizioni GT representative what the issue was with the #62 Risi Competizione Ferrari 296 GT3, but was told ‘no comment’. The car has been in the garages for some time, and had its rear end bodywork removed with mechanics surrounding in the car in, presumably, an issue to get it fixed and back out on track.
