Porsche’s Matt Campbell told MotorsportWeek.com that although the German manufacturer would have preferred more development time, everyone in the GTP category is in the same boat.

“I don’t think you’ll ever be ready enough for going into such a championship with a brand new car. We might have had the most time, but for sure we would have like more as well. So I think everyone is on the same boat with that,” the Kiwi said when asked by MotorsPortWeek.com if, like other GTP teams have said, more development time was needed.

“For sure, early on we were doing a lot of development, also for the control components of the car. So that took quite some time. But yeah, we’d have loved a lot more running before going into the race, but everyone’s in the same boat.”

Campbell also talked about the expected race of attrition amid reliability gremlins for the top class GTP cars. “Pace wise, we don’t know what everyone else has got either. So we’ll just focus on running our own race and doing our own thing. That’s all we we can do. And obviously, you know, we just want to make sure that car will be reliable for the full 24 hours.”
