The Manor F1 Team has been given a boost as it vows to return to the Formula 1 grid from the ashes of the bankrupt Marussia team.
The FIA is in close contact with the revived team and has informed them that they will delay the release of the final entry list for as long as possible to give Manor much needed time.
The team was dealt a blow last week when rivals voted against it using a modified 2014 chassis. However they’ve refused to let that scupper their plans and work to ready an interim 2015 chassis is underway.
It’s unlikely that will be ready for the opening race in Australia, but there is hope it can be built in time for the fourth round in Bahrain. That would still allow them to collect their prize money from 2014 as the commercial agreement allows each team to miss a maximum of three races.
Manor’s investors have already paid the entry fee, proving they’re serious about making the grid. They are also in close contact with the governing body who have chosen to hold back on releasing a confirmed entry list until they know whether Manor will indeed be able to race.
Manor is due to exit administration on February 19th and more information about its next step toward confirming its return is expected next week at the end of the month.
