Adrian Newey has refused to deny he could be off to Ferrari following a fresh approach by the Italian outfit to lure the design guru away from Red Bull.
Newey has previously said he would like to finish his career with the Milton Keynes based team, but it’s believed Ferrari – without a win for over a year – has approached Newey with an offer ‘he can’t refuse’.
Whether that’s actually the case, Newey denied to comment, but he did admit his attention would turn to his future ambitions soon.
“I don’t know,” he replied when asked what his future held. “I need to think about it. We’re in the middle of the season and I’m just getting on with it.”
He later added: “At some point I am going to have to think about the future, but at the moment my focus is getting in front of the silver cars.”
It’s not clear what Ferrari’s offer might include considering the 55-year-old is paid an annual salary of £7 million ($11.7m) by Red Bull.
