Stefan GP have officially announced their bid for the 2011 championship, and if that wasn’t enough, they have also confirmed plans to build a technology centre and F1 track in Serbia.

The Serbian outfit, led by Zoran Stefanovic attempted to enter the 2010 season at short notice, but the FIA refused the entry, despite there being an opening thanks to the failure of USF1.

In a statement on their new website (here), Mr Stefanovic announced plans to build a technology park, including a 3.5km F1 ready circuit featuring 16 corners and a 807m straight.

“I think this is an excellent development for our team, Stara Pazova city, region and country,” Mr Stefanovic said. “This is proof that we want to put ourselves on the map as a serious hi-tech company, and that we are serious about competing in Formula One for the long term.

“Bearing in mind that we will soon be on a par with top teams, in terms of facilities and organisation, as Stefan Technology Park looking to be compared with them, we expect many positive improvements in the future.”

The statement added: “StefanGP would also like to officially announce our bid for the FIA 2011 Formula One World Championship.”
