Kimi Raikkonen believes Ferrari are in a better position than it appeared in Australia after a few issues masked their true performance.
The Finn span during qualifying which hurt his chances of qualifying higher, whilst both he and team-mate Fernando Alonso were carrying an electrical issue during the race.
Raikkonen believes they can fight higher up the grid if they can iron out the mistakes.
“If we can run a weekend without any issues and the race without problems I am sure we can be much stronger,” he said.
“This is how it was here [with both cars having issues] and hopefully we can sort out most of the things for the next race.”
Whilst Raikkonen believes they’re better off than they showed, he says they’re not where they want to be.
“We had a pretty good idea before [Australia] where we are, and obviously we are not where we want to be.
“On the car side and the engine side we probably have to improve. I think it is bit everywhere.
“But putting things exactly right throughout the race weekend, making no mistakes – that will already make a big difference.”
