Vettel masters the wet to take dominant pole

Sebastian Vettel mastered the tricky conditions to take yet another pole position as he looks set to continue his dominant streak of eight race wins.

The Red Bull driver looked to have a challenge on his hands as those around him popped up in the top spot, but the German was clearly hiding his ultimate pace as he posted a time over six-tenths quicker than second placed man Nico Rosberg.

The fellow German will start second ahead of Fernando Alonso who secured his best grid slot since the Bahrain GP back in April.

Lewis Hamilton was fifth with Romain Grosjean, Daniel Ricciardo, Jean-Eric Vergne, Felipe Massa and Nico Hulkenberg rounding off the Q3 positions.

The weather certainly played its role, delaying the final shoot-out by 40-minutes. Q1 and Q2 weren’t delayed, but also suffered from heavy showers which mixed the results up a little, but not enough to save the Caterhams and Marussias who finished in their usual positions.
