Pirelli will conduct a tyre test with Red Bull in Barcelona later this month it has revealed.
The Italian tyre supplier, which is due to sign a new contract on Sunday, intends to test its 2014 tyres but will fully comply with the revised regulations.
As a result of the ‘secret’ Mercedes tyre test earlier in the year, which resulted in a reprimand for the Anglo-German team and a ban from the Young Driver Test, the FIA tightened the regulations surrounding testing.
Red Bull will use it’s 2011 chassis, the RB7, and two drivers in the form of test driver Sebastien Buemi and 2014 driver Daniel Ricciardo.
The test will also be limited to 1000km and the data will be shared with all the teams to ensure Red Bull gains no unfair advantage.
