The FIA has issued a ban on inverted tyre mounting and has put in place minimum tyre pressures and cambers to stop teams from misusing them.

Pirelli wrote to the FIA asking them to enforce strict rules to ensure a repeat of what happened at Silverstone is avoided.

A technical notice issued to the teams on Friday morning states: “For safety reasons, we have been asked by Pirelli to ensure that the tyres on all cars are run under the conditions listed below.

“It will be the responsibility of each team to satisfy the FIA technical delegate that the cars comply with the following requirements at all times.”

The minimum starting pressure for the front and rear must be 16psi, the minimum stabilised running front pressure will be 20psi whilst the rears will be 19psi.

Maximum negative cambers will be four degress at the front and 2.5 at the rear.

Teams must run the tyres on the correct side of the car, lefts on the left and rights on the right. Teams had been doing the opposite to extend tyre life.
