Hartley completes Bahrain 8H practice sweep

Brendon Hartley has once more set the fastest time in practice for the Eight Hours of Bahrain, marking the third consecutive time the Kiwi has topped the practice sessions.

Hartley posted a 01:48:346 aboard the #8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid to go quickest in the final session before qualifying.

Team-mate Kamui Kobayashi was second quickest in the #7 Toyota, 0.431s behind his team-mate.

The #36 Alpine A480-Gibson was third and over three seconds behind Hartley.

In LMP2, title rivals JOTA and United Autosports shared the top three positions between them.

Antonio Felix da Costa set the fastest time in the #38 ORECA 07-Gibson, with Filipe Albuquerque second in the #22 United Autosports ORECA.

The #28 JOTA, which sits second in the championship standings, went third fastest in the hands of Stoffel Vandoorne

The #1 Richard Mille Racing Team ORECA took a strong fourth in the hands of Tatiana Calderon, with Realteam Racing fifth.

In GTE Pro, Porsche led the way in one-two formation as the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 went quickest, with Kevin Estre posting a 01:56:580. The #91 sister car was nearly a second back, but both cars were well ahead of the two AF Corse Ferraris.

The Italian squad, which has filed an official protest over the Balance of Performance adjustments made to its cars, was were third and fourth, both nearly two seconds slower than Estre.

Matteo Cairoli went fastest for Team Project 1 in GTE Am, posting a 01:58:696 in the #56 Porsche 911 RSR-19.

Qualifying for the Eight Hours of Bahrain starts at 17:20 pm local time.
