Ferrari has been given an increase in power ahead of the championship-deciding round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Eight Hours of Bahrain.

Confirmed as part of a Balance of Performance update bulletin put out by officials on Wednesday evening, the 488 GTE Evo gets back roughly half of the power it had lost during the previous power cut ahead of last weekend’s Six Hours of Bahrain.

The power cut was roundly criticised by Ferrari. After the six-hour race, which it lost to title rivals Porsche, team boss Antonello Coletta said that he hoped that ‘the correct criteria for the BoP will be restored in the last race so that we can try to fight on equal terms for the world titles.’

In addition to the power increase, the Ferraris in both GTE Pro and GTE Am have been given a slight increase in fuel capacity, with the maximum onboard fuel volume going from 89 liters to 91 liters.
