Kamui Kobayashi has set the fastest time in the third and final practice session for the Six Hours of Bahrain.

The Japanse driver lapped the Bahrain International Circuit in a time of 01:48:978 to cap off practice in a relatively uneventful session.

The #8 sister car driven by Brendon Hartley was 0.711s behind in second place, returning to the track after a collision with the Iron Lynx Ferrari in the second session on Friday morning.

The #36 Alpine A480-Gibson rounded out the top three overall, just over a second off pace.

JOTA look strong

LMP2 points leaders JOTA set the fastest time in LMP2 as the trio of Stoffel Vandoorne, Sean Gelael and Tom Blomqvist look to extend their slim championship advantage.

Blomqvist set the quickest time in the #28 ORECA 07-Gibson, his 01:50:696 a comfortable 0.655s clear of second-placed Filipe Albuquerque in the #22 United Autosports ORECA.

JOTA holds a one-point lead over rivals Team WRT heading into the Bahrain double header.

Antonio Felix da Costa, driving the sister #38 JOTA ORECA, rounded out the top three in class.

Ferrari find pace

AF Corse found some pace in the final session before qualifying after being significantly off the pace in the second session on Friday morning.

The Ferrari 488 GTE Evos were hit with an unexpected BOP change ahead of this Saturday’s six-hour enduro, which left Ferrari significantly off the pace earlier in the day.

In the final session, however, the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo driven by James Calado was only 0.169s off the fastest time in GTE Pro.

That time was set by Neel Jani in the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19.

Jaxon Evans was quickest in GTE Am, posting a 01:59:502 in the #77 Dempsey-Proton Porsche 911 RSR-19.

Qualifying for the Six Hours of Bahrain takes place at 16:30 local time.
