Kamui Kobayashi in the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid leads the Le Mans 24 Hours with three hours of the race gone, with his teammate Sébastien Buemi in the sister #8 Toyota, who’s been in the car since the start of the race, 10 seconds back, although he is due an imminent pitstop.
The first of the non-Toyotas, #36 Alpine A480, sits third, 1 minute 50 seconds back but still on the lead lap. Importantly for Alpine the car has been doing 12 laps stint, which may be a deciding factor in the race.
Coming up to the 3 hour mark, former LMP2 leader #38 JOTA ORECA 07-Gibson, with Anthony Davidson at the wheel, spun at the first corner and beached the car in the gravel, demoting him way down the order. This means the #26 G-Drive Aurus 01-Gibson of Franco Colapinto leads the class, with Job van Uitert in the #29 Racing Team Nederland in second, and the #28 JOTA ORECA 07-Gibson of Tom Blomqvist in third.
Ferrari leads GTE-Pro, with Daniel Serra in the #52 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo. Second is the sister #52 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo of Alessandro Pier Guidi while Earl Bamber in the #79 WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR is third in class.
In GTE-Am, TF Sport leads in the #33 Aston Martin Vantage AMR, with Dylan Pereira at the wheel. Marco Gomes’s works-run #98 Aston Martin Vantage AMR makes it a 1-2 for the British manufacturer, while #47 Cetilar Racing Ferrari 488 GTE Evo sit third with Giorgio Sernagiotto.
