Taylor tops final Road America practice session

Ricky Taylor has set the fastest time in the second and final practice session for the IMSA Sports Car Weekend race at Road America.

The #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Acura ARX-05 went well clear of the competition with Taylor behind the wheel, posting the only sub 1:50 laptime of the session at 01:49:752

Taylor was 0.659s faster than second-placed Felipe Nasr in the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-VR. Tristan Vautier was third in the #5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac, 0.145s behind Derani.

Oliver Jarvis was fourth for Mazda, ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kevin Magnussen and Meyer Shank Racing’s Dane Cameron.

Mikkel Jensen topped LMP2 for the second session in a row, as the Dane posted a 01:53:513 behind the wheel of the #52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA 07-Gibson.

Ryan Dalziel was second for Era Motorsport, ahead of Tristan Nunez and Gabriel Aubry for WIN Autosport and Tower Motorsport respectively.

Oliver Askew, meanwhile. dominated LMP3 as the Indy Lights champion cleared the competition by over a second.

Askew’s best time in the #36 Andretti Autosport Ligier JS P320 was a 02:00:579, 1.290s faster than the #38 Performance Tech Ligier of Rasmus Lindh.

Matt Campbell outpaced both Corvettes in GTLM to go quickest in the #79 WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19.

The Australian’s best time of 02:01:843 was over a half a second quicker than the #3 Corvette C8.R driven by Antonio Garcia, with Nick Tandy third in class.

Finally, GTD was topped by Aaron Telitz in the #14 Lexus RC F GT3 in a time of 02:06:485, 0.328s faster than the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M6 GT3 of Robby Foley.
