Ferrari have broken the FIA enforced curfew for a second night in a row according to Formula One technical delegate Jo Bauer.
The Italian team were working flat-out on Fernando Alonso’s car on both Friday and Saturday morning between the curfew hours of 5am and 11am.
However, with this being their second infringement, no action will be taken as teams are given four exceptions thoughout the year.
“This morning team personnel of the Ferrari team, who are associated with the operation of the car, were within the confines of the circuit during the six hour period,” read a statement from the governing body.
“This was the second of the four individual exceptions permitted for the Ferrari team during the 2012 Formula One Championship season and therefore no action should be taken.”
The outfit’s sporting director Massimo Rivola said he expected the team would be working through the night and morning as they evaluated new parts for qualifying and the race.
“I think there is still a long night for our engineers to set up the car properly,” he said.
“Not everything was right because when you start doing some changes on the car and you test something new you need to spend more time aero testing, rather than proper set-up.
“So we are confident on Saturday to close the gap and I am very confident for the race.
“Can we win? This is not what it seems today but there is reliability, which is an important factor and we will see.”
