Romain Grosjean admits he’s confused as to why his contract at Lotus hasn’t yet been extended for the 2013 season, whilst his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen’s has.
The Finnish driver confirmed a one-year extension to his own contract last week, meaning he will be a feature of the grid next year with Lotus. Grosjean’s future however remains a mystery.
When asked why he was without whilst Raikkonen was confirmed, he replied: “To be honest I have no idea!”
The 26-year-old has had a rather turbulent season with many ups and downs which have included front-row starts and multiple podiums, however he has also suffered difficult times including a one-race ban after he caused a pile-up in Belgium.
Grosjean though is confident he has the teams full support.
“I think with the team we’re happy together, they’ve put a lot of confidence in me and a lot of faith when it was a bit of a harder time. I showed them that I’m working and improving and trying to work out all the problems we had while still keeping the speed, so there’s no reason that it goes bad for the future.”
