Sebastian Vettel has escaped a penalty for blocking Fernando Alonso during the final stage of qualifying and will therefore retain his pole position.
The Red Bull driver had been called to the stewards office to give his view on the incident, but after reviewing footage, the FIA handed Vettel a reprimand – his second of the season.
Fernando Alonso starts in sixth place having qualified seventh, after Jenson Button’s gearbox penalty is applied, dropping the McLaren to eighth just ahead of his team-mate Lewis Hamilton.
