Ferrari has announced that it has selected AF Corse to operate its factory Le Mans Hypercar effort, set for debut in 2023.

The longstanding and widely successful partnership between the Italian manufacturer and AF Corse will continue into the Hypercar era, where it will compete under the ‘Ferrari – AF Corse’ banner.

The two parties have worked together since 2006, with Amato Ferrari’s outfit running the factory GT operations for the team.

In that period, the team has scored three class victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, five constructors titles and six teams’ and drivers titles in both GTE Pro and GTE Am, with the squad most recently capturing the GTE Am title in 2020.

It most recent Le Mans win came in 2019, when Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Daniel Serra took the GTE Pro class win.

“We are proud of this announcement,” Amato Ferrari commented. It is the crowning of a dream and recognition of the great effort made over the years.

“Our partnership with Ferrari is a winning one that began in 2006, and I am delighted to continue it in the LMH project.

“We have immediately kicked off with great enthusiasm aiming to raise the bar even further and to be ready for this new challenge”.

Antonello Coletta, Head of Ferrari Attività Sportive GT, added: “Today’s announcement is an important  step towards the debut of our LMH in the World Endurance Championship.

“We are happy to have a reliable partner like AF Corse with us for this project. Ferrari and AF Corse have enjoyed a solid relationship for a long time, as you can see in the FIA WEC, where we run our official 488 GTEs together with the Piacenza-based team.

“We look forward to continuing together on a journey as rewarding as the years of racing cooperation to date”.
