Kimi Raikkonen will start the Malaysian Grand Prix five places lower than he qualifies after Lotus had to change his gearbox.
The Finn’s car will have a new gearbox for third practice on Saturday after the team confirmed the change was required via Twitter.
The cause of the change came about after Raikkonen went off-track during the Australian GP, which filled the radiator with grass and overheated the gearbox – as a precaution the team have chosen to change it after noticing issues with the casing.
