Felipe Massa says he isn’t bothered by speculation and calls for Ferrari to sack him after his poor performance in the season opening grand prix.
The Brazilian hasn’t been a feature on the podium since the 2010 Korean GP and failed to finish in Australia last weekend after a mid-race clash with Bruno Senna.
Italian media has called for his sacking, with Sauber’s Sergio Perez, the retired Jarno Trulli and ousted Adrian Sutil as possible candidates to replace him.
Massa though isn’t bothered by the comments, saying: “To be honest, I really don’t care.
“I never drove depending on what others think or say about me. I just do my job thinking about trying to do the best I can in the car.
“When I arrived here in 2008, people were saying I was out of Ferrari, because I did not finish in Australia and then I did not finish here and it went on to become my best season. Things can change very quickly from one day to the next. The only thing I care about is to have the car I know from winter testing.”
