Scott Dixon joins Chip Ganassi’s Rolex 24 lineup

Reigning IndyCar and Rolex 24 at Daytona champion Scott Dixon will join Chip Ganassi Racing in its Cadillac DPi-V.R for this month’s Rolex 24.

Dixon, who last year won his sixth IndyCar title, has driven for Chip Ganassi’s IndyCar team for 17 years, and has also raced in the Ford GT for the team, earning a class win at Daytona in 2018.

Additionally, two of his three overall victories at Daytona came with Ganassi, first winning in 2006 with Dan Wheldon and Casey Mears. A second win came in 2015, alongside Tony Kanaan, Kyle Larsen and Jamie McMurray.

During the 2020 season, Dixon joined Wayne Taylor Racing for Daytona and the endurance rounds. Together with Renger van der Zande, Ryan Briscoe and Kamui Kobayashi, he won the Rolex 24 at Daytona for a third time. Later that season, Dixon would also help Wayne Taylor Racing to victory at Petit Le Mans.

At Chip Ganassi Racing, Dixon is reunited with Van der Zande, with the pair teaming up with ex-Haas driver Kevin Magnussen. A fourth driver is expected to be announced at a later date.

The team also revealed the car’s livery, with a predominantly white base, with red highlights and Cadillac branding on the rear wing.
