Sauber takes the wraps of the C31 in Jerez

Sauber unveiled its 2012 car on Monday at the Jerez circuit, a day before pre-season testing gets underway at the Spanish facility.

The Swiss outfit is one of three teams launching their cars on Monday, the others being Red Bull and Toro Rosso.

The C31 features a stepped nose, similar to that of the Ferrari, of which it shares its engine, and very small sidepods which allows more air to reach the rear of the car, an important aspect now that exhaust blown diffusers have been banned.
