The FIA has set two independent DRS-zones for the Indian Grand Prix, according to Xevi Pujolar, Pastor Maldonado’s race engineer at Williams.
The same system was used at the Italian GP in Monza. Instead of two zones and one detection zone, as used previously, the two zones will be completely independent giving a driver a second chance, or the recently passed through the first zone, a chance to retake the position in the second.
The first detection point will be at turn 15 with activation on the start/finish straight before braking into turn one.
The second zone will be one of the longest as any driver entering turn three within a second of the leading car, can activate their adjustable rear-wing about halfway down the longest straight on the circuit.
