A multi-car incident at Motul Petit Le Mans has changed the DPi battle for the lead at Motul Petit Le Mans after both the leading Acura and Mazda were taken out.

Dane Cameron had taken over the lead of the race on a pitstop cycle during a safety car in the fifth hour of the race, putting the #6 Acura ARX-05 ahead of the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-VR of Felipe Nasr.

Cameron maintained the lead ahead of both the Cadillac and the #77 Mazda of Tristan Nunez until the next round of stop. Just as Nunez handed over to Oliver Jarvis, both Jarvis and Cameron became involved in separate incidents.

Jarvis made contact with the #63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo of Alessandro Balzan and was pushed into the wall, while Cameron was seen stationary on track alongside the #8 Tower Motorsport by Starworks ORECA 07-Gibson of Job van Uitert.

The two incidents brought out the safety car and promoted the #7 Acura ARX-05 of Ricky Taylor into the lead. Pipo Derani holds second in the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac, with Dane Cameron now third in the #6 Acura.

Scott Huffaker still leads LMP2 for PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports ORECA 07-Gibson, with ELMS ace Mikkel Jensen second in the Tower Motorsport by Starworks ORECA.

GTLM has seen a number of lead changes. Augusto Farfus initially dropped the #24 BMW M8 GTE out of the lead after a slow stop, but moved back into podium position after John Edwards became involved in an incident with the #911 Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Matt Campbell, after which Edwards moved into third.

After a fast pitstop under yellow, Edwards moved the #24 BMW M8 GTE back into the lead, with Nicky Catsburg second in the #3 Corvette C8.R and Nick Tandy third in the #911 Porsche 911 RSR-19 after Mathieu Jaminet served a drivethrough penalty in the #912 Porsche.

The GTD battle remains wide open, with the #63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo now leading in the hands of Alessandro Balzan. The Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo remains a front runner but is down the order on an alternate strategy with an eye on the Michelin Endurance Cup.

Jan Heylen sits in third in the #16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3R on the hourmark, with Zacharie Robichon third in the #9 Pfaff Porsche 911 GT3R.
