Whelen Engineering has captured the lead of Motul Petit Le Mans with four hours of racing completed following a strategic fuel stop to take the lead away from Acura Team Penske.

The #6 Acura ARX-05 had been leading the race from the start, but Simon Pagenaud was leapfrogged by the #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-VR of Felipe Nasr shortly before the four-hour mark when the team opted for a shorter fuel stop to get the car out in front after four hours to optimize Michelin Endurance Cup points.

Nasr now leads ahead of Pagenaud, with the #77 Mazda RT24-P in third place ahead of Tristan Nunez, which spent considerable time battling Nasr before the pitstops. The #7 Acura ARX-05 sits fourth in the hands of Alexander Rossi.

PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports continues to comfortably lead LMP2, with the #52 ORECA 07-Gibson currently in the hands of Patrick Kelly and several laps up on the closest challenger.

BMW Team RLL continues to lead GTLM as Augusto Farfus leads in the #24 BMW M8 GTE, but behind them, the battle is wide open between Porsche and Corvette.

The two Corvettes held second and third for much of the time, but currently find them behind the two Porsches. Matt Campbell sits in second in the #911 Porsche 911 RSR-19, with Earl Bamber third in the #912 Porsche 911 RSR-19. The two Corvettes hold fourth and fifth.

The #25 BMW M8 GTE is out of contention and many laps down after spending time behind the wall with an unspecified issue.

Meyer Shank Racing has overhauled Paul Miller Racing in the battle for GTD, with Mario Farnbacher leading in the #86 Acura NSX GT3 Evo ahead of Corey Lewis’ #48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo. Cooper Macneil sits in third in the #63 Scuderia Corsa Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo.
