Gustavo Menezes has put Rebellion Racing up top in the fourth and final practice session at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Menezes set a 03:21:132 in the #1 Rebellion R13-Gibson in a fairly subdued session, going just under half a second quicker than the #8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid in the hands of Brendon Hartley, with the #7 Toyota in third place ahead of the second Rebellion.
ByKolles had a difficult session and was slower than the top three in LMP2 after suffering mechanical troubles, coming to a halt in the pit lane.
United Autosports led final practice in LMP2, with the #22 ORECA 07-Gibson setting a 03:27:185 in the hands of Paul di Resta ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne in the #26 G-Drive Aurus 01-Gibson and JOTA’s Antonio Felix da Costa in the #38 ORECA and the two Dragonspeed cars in fourth and fifth.
Both IDEC Sport ORECA 07-Gibsons returned to the track for the first time they both crashed in the pre-qualifying practice session on Thursday. The #17 ORECA 07-Gibson had a new driver behind the wheel, with Porsche factory driver Patrick Pilet brought in at the last moment to replace Dwight Merriman.
Michael Christensen has put the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 on top in GTE Pro with a best time of 03:51:985, ahead of both AF Corse Ferraris and the #97 Aston Martin in fourth.
Matteo Cairoli made it two out of two for Porsches at the top of the timing sheets, with the Italian putting in a best time of 03:53:884 ahead of the 03:53:937 time set by Come Ledogar in the #61 Luzich Racing Ferrari 488 GTE Evo and the #90 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage AMR.
Two GTE Am runners had off-track moments during the hour-long session. Lucas Legeret spun the #99 Dempsey-Proton Racing Porsche 911 RSR into the gravel at the first Mulsanne Chicane. This was later followed by Jan Magnussen, who beached the #66 JMW Motorsport Ferrari 488 GTE Evo in the gravel.
