Derek Daly will join the stewards’ panel for the Italian Grand Prix this weekend at Monza.
The former driver competed between 1978 and 1982 with several teams including; Tyrrell and Williams.
The 58-year-old said he was skeptical of the role at first, but after seeing it in action, he believes it’s only been a positive thing.
“I was a little skeptical at first when I heard that former F1 drivers were to be used in a stewards role as they have always had such varying opinions on the issues,” said the Irishman.
“However, I have to say that using former drivers appears to have been a positive and I’m very much looking forward to it.”
