Mark Webber is confident that his teammates dominant run of six victories in eleven races is now over, and expects himself and his rivals to put up a tougher fight in the second half of the year.
“No, that’s over,” said the Australian. “I think that’s over, in terms of having five, six or seven victories on the bounce. I think that is not going to happen. I think it will be more spread out.
“It will be the same customers. Then you will have the normal suspects, the normal guys winning, and I am looking at getting involved as well.”
Sebastian Vettel currently sits atop the championship table with an 85-point lead over his nearest rival, which just so happens to be his teammate, Webber.
When the question of whether or not the season was over for him and those around him, Webber replied: “No, not if Seb doesn’t finish two races.
“I wouldn’t just rely on someone not dominating. There are eight races to go, Seb is in a great position but [he] is not completely comfortable yet.”
